Some Like It Hot But What About Your Water?
We all know that drinking plenty of water flushes out toxins, helps with digestion and prevents constipation.
How much you need to drink depends on your body weight as well as how much exercise you’re doing. Most researchers agree that every adult needs at least 64 ounces of water a day.
So does it matter if you drink warm or cold water? Dr Joshua Thurman says yes...it does.
“Cold water may relieve thirst more quickly than warm or hot water. Thirst is the body’s way of stimulating a person to replace water that has been lost. It has been observed that cold water can quench thirst even before the body has absorbed the water. Thus, it seems that the temperature contributes to its ability to quench thirst”
If you’re cold, or have a sore throat, there’s nothing wrong with drinking a little warm water with some lemon. But cold water is what your body craves the most. So as the temperatures get warmer, enjoy the rush of a tall cold drink.
Stay strong, healthy and safe!
