National Nurses Day 2021

May 6 is National Nurses Day. This year, the official theme is “A Voice to Lead - A Vision for Future Healthcare.”

If you walk into any hospital or doctor’s office, it won’t take long for you to figure out who the backbone of the healthcare system is - that’s the millions of nurses working the front lines. For the last year, the nearly three million nurses around the country have been in the fight against Covid-19. While caring for us, many of them have become sick; some have died. The latest numbers from the CDC are staggering. Nearly 10,000 healthcare workers have contracted the virus, which hit all age groups.

National Nurses Week 2021

It’s been 31 years since Nurses Week was created. It runs May 6 - May 12 kicking off with National Nurses Day on May 6. The tribute ends on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who’s credited with being the founder of modern nursing.

All health professionals know how important it is to stay hydrated, for themselves and their patients. But when you’re on the frontline you’re overwhelmed by grueling shifts, constant pressure, and PPE constraints.  All of those factors contribute to your ability to drink freely. Adding to these barriers: the risk of contamination (an issue well before the introduction of COVID-19). The research shows that the “3 R’s, rest, rehydrate, refuel are keys to staying healthy, especially in these tough times. Hydration stations, reminder posters, and the ultimate reminder, a personal water bottle that tracks every sip are just a few tangibles to keep staff on the right hydration path.

That’s why, as we celebrate National Nurses Week starting on Thursday, May 6, 2021, HidrateSpark is honored to offer a 10% discount on every HidrateSpark product to nurses this week and every week of the year.  So, Happy National Nurses Week to all the kind, hard-working, and exceptional nurses and healthcare professionals out there! This year, our gratitude is even greater as you take care of patients and fight the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to your leadership and guidance in the future of healthcare.
