How Much Water Should You Drink Each Day?

How Much Water Should You Drink Each Day?

You’ve probably heard the standard answer multiple times: you should drink 64 ounces a day, or eight glasses of water. Can that number be the same for us all? No. The amount of water we need depends on our weight, as well as our activity levels.

How Do You Calculate How Much Water Your Body Needs?

Here’s a simple way to figure it out. Divide your weight in half and drink that many ounces of water.

For example, in this family, with a 200-pound dad, he should drink 100 ounces of water a day. If he sits at a desk all day, that might be sufficient. If he works out, he’ll need more water intake during the day. For his daughter who weighs just 70 pounds, 35 ounces of water a day is the calculated amount. But, since she’s on the school soccer team, she’ll need to drink about twice that amount to stay hydrated.

If you’re sweating and losing water, you need to make it up. It’s easy to forget, so the world’s smartest water bottle does the thinking for you, sending push alerts and a glow to remind you when you can’t get to your phone.  Make every sip count and stay hydrated and healthy!
