Get Moving this Spring

Get Moving this Spring

Spring is in the air! The days are becoming warmer, the birds can be heard singing, and the trees are blossoming. It's easy to see why this is the time for fresh starts and to shed old habits. You may have made your New Year resolutions on January 1, but spring is a good season to revisit them and follow through– especially when it comes to lifestyle changes and fitness goals.

After a cold winter of staying in and bundled up, come March the temperatures start to slowly rise and you feel your energy levels increase. There is a new motivation to get up, head out and get moving. Even in coastal and generally warmer regions there is a sense of renewal with spring approaching. This is when flowers and vegetables are planted and when the new harvest season starts in many parts of the world.

If being physically active is something you want to do more of in 2025, spring is the perfect time to get going with its warmer weather and longer days. From walks in the park and hikes to take in the changing scenery to even doing yard work and getting your garden ready for the season, there are so many ways to stay active outdoors.

Even if your January resolution to hit the gym has faded, here are some ideas to get in a workout while enjoying the spring air:

  • Look up the different trails in your area and explore the hills, backcountry lanes and nature reserves near you. Breathe in the fresh spring air and take in the stunning landscape as wildflowers make their appearance. Walk and hike at your own pace and get those steps amid beautiful scenery.
  • If spring showers are threatening to play spoilsport, that doesn’t mean you have to give up on enjoying the great outdoors. Put on your rain boots and head out on a refreshing walk. Keep your raincoat handy and feel like a kid again as you jump in the puddles.
  • Birds offer the first sign that spring is here. From songbirds and woodpeckers to geese and robins, as winter thaws and the warm weather begins the birds start making their appearance. This is a great time to get out of the house and go on long walks to spot the birds that have returned, migrating or are getting ready to nest.
  • The start of spring is ideal for spending some time focusing on your yard and garden. Fix the yard, get some repairs done and plan what you want to plant in your garden. Don’t forget some springtime blooms! Not only are you getting your outdoor space ready for the season, you are also staying active and giving yourself future motivation for getting out and working in the garden.
  • For many people, the winter has been spent working out indoors. Now you can ditch the treadmill and head out. Go on a bike ride, get in a jog or do some yoga in the park. You could also play a group outdoor game like volleyball or football. Make the most of the weather while getting your workout in.

While enjoying the great outdoors on a beautiful spring day, don’t forget to carry your HidrateSpark bottle with you. The smart bottle makes sure you stay hydrated. It works in tandem with an app where you can set your water consumption goals. The bottle will glow or send you a notification on your phone when you need to stop and drink some water. This is perfect for when you are out on a hike, playing a sport in the park or spending the afternoon gardening in the sun. Stay hydrated this spring while staying active!
