The Hidrate Spark Smart Water Bottle
By Artistical Greatness / April 8, 2017Water. 75% of the human body. we drink it, we love it, but sometimes we forget it.
Technology. We use it, we love it and we never forget it.Put those two together and you get the Hidrate Spark 2.0 Smart water bottle. We’ve come so far in technology from smartphones, smartwatches, smart TVs to having a smart water bottle that works, and works quite well.
The first thing about this bottle that got my attention is the fact that it glows, where do you ever see a water bottle glowing? Only the Hidrate Spark has seemed to pull it off. It glows throughout the day to remind you to drink water (even I forget at times). You can even change the pattern and frequency of the glow. Plus, when you reach your daily hydration goal, your bottle celebrates with a fun celebration glow!
Features and Functionality
This smart water bottle works and works pretty well, it’s simple and does exactly what its meant to do, that’s what I love about it. It connects to your smartphone using Bluetooth. Which you can use for tracking intake and syncs to a companion app where you can customize:
- Hydration goal
- Hydration history
- Keep an eye on friend’s progress
- Seeing the bottle’s last paired location on a map
A sensor inside the bottle automatically records how many oz/ml you are drinking and syncs to an app via Bluetooth so you can record how much you have drunk on your phone.
Design wise, it is beautiful. Diamond shaped and counters perfectly to your hand. Not your ordinary water bottle. It feels premium, the plastic doesn’t feel “plasticky” instead, a grippy rubbery texture. Which I like as bottles do get wet and you wouldn’t want this high-tech bottle falling on the floor. Comes in 5 different colors, but this black color is quite sleek and futuristic. It can contain 710 ml (24 oz) of water, but the bottle itself isn’t too bulky. It fits common cupholders, backpack pockets, and bike bottle cages. With a flip-style lid and a pour-style mouthpiece, it won’t be leaking anytime.
I don’t drink as much water as I should, and after a couple of days of having this, I’ve felt more drawn to drink more, perhaps because I know and can see exactly how much I’m drinking and knowing you haven’t drunk much can be daunting, motivating you to do something about it. When you reach that goal you set or the bottle sets for you, I felt a sense of joy knowing I reached my goal for the day. As cheesy as it may sound. I can’t promise that the Smart water bottle is for you or will change your life, as maybe you don’t need to track your water intake, maybe you don’t need a bottle glowing to remind you or you don’t need to have a sleek looking bottle with you everywhere you go. But, it has changed mine already and in just a couple of days, the results of drinking more water itself has made me feel much energized, alert, and overall great.

Would I Recommend It?Yes I would. Water plays a very important role in our health, and there’s no better, easier, way to track it than by using a bottle that does it for you. Gone are the days of not knowing whether you’re drinking enough water, questioning why you feel so tired or why you have that headache as a result of dehydration. With Hidrate spark, welcome to the days of really maintaining your fitness and health goals, feeling actively better and living your life to its full potential. I would give the Hidrate spark a 10/10.
- Gorgeous design
- Simple functionality
- Great companion app that works the way it should.
- No charging needed.
- Lack of automatic syncing – would be great if the bottle could automatically sync without going into the app.
